Child Advocacy and Protection Program

The Child Advocacy and Protection Program at CHaD is a multidisciplinary program that helps evaluate and manage child maltreatment, including consultations for physical abuse, sexual abuse and neglect in outpatient and inpatient settings. CAPP personnel work closely with protective services, law enforcement, schools, social agencies, and referring providers, and also provide ongoing medical education for providers and agencies in the region. CAPP provides service and training regarding all aspects of child maltreatment, including prevention.

CHaD is committed to providing exceptional patient- and family-centered care, training new generations of pediatric healthcare providers, studying and advancing new treatments for childhood illnesses, and serving community needs through injury prevention, community partnerships, public health education, and advocacy. CHaD is an essential component of Dartmouth-Hitchcock’s commitment to creating a sustainable health system that improves the lives of the people and communities it serves for generations to come.
