The Children’s Fund is committed to supporting non profits in the Upper Valley that serve children. In 2009, the Fund recommended a series of grants to help build the sustainable capacity of 19 local organizations to deliver services to children. This year’s grantees are:
The Upper Valley Smiles Program at Alice Peck Day Hospital
Grant to continue 2007 effort to connect low income kids to dental care, and move toward long term sustainability of the project.
AVA Gallery
Grant funds to serve underprivileged kids in their Art Stop Studio, a weekly after school offering with participation from Lebanon Junior High School.
Child and Family Services of New Hampshire
Grant funds for training for potential foster parents.
Good Beginnings of the Upper Valley
Grant funds to hire a consultant for a strategic planning process.
Hannah House
Funds to hire a consultant for board development and strategic planning.
The Upper Valley Haven
Grant suport for web site development as part of an effort to raise an additional $265,000.
High Horses Therapeutic Riding Program
Grant funds for a consultant to coach the board on fundraising.
Inspiring Kids
Grant support to expand to 5 Upper Valley schools.

Compter hardware and software to improve newsletter, website and software.
The Montshire Museum of Science
Grant funds to enhance customer service throughout the organization.
Lebanon Opera House
Grant support for an improved online ticketing system.
Norwich Public Library
Grant funds for “food for thought—nourishing a community” fundraiser.
Opera North
Grant funds for expansion of child education and outreach programming.
Planned Parenthood of Northern New England
Grant funds Google ad campaign to help young people find Planned Parenthood of Northern New England and connect to their services online.
Revels North
Grant to expand World of Song children's chorus program to involve more kids from a wider area.
Special Needs Support Center
Grant to support second annual fundraising event.
Upper Valley Trails Alliance
Grant provides support for new strategic planning process.
Vermont Foodbank
Grant supports educational tool kit to teach K-12 kids about hunger and poverty.
Vital Communities
Grant provides support for the first-ever “Superquest” event, which will help the Valley Quest program with fundraising and awareness.
The 2009 applications for funding will be available in September. Please submit proposals by November 1. Grants will be made by calendar year-end.
